AR Book Find
Accelerated Reading is a crucial part of our reading curriculum. We believe the more exposure to reading your child receives, the better reader he or she will become. Each child will receive a reading goal every nine weeks. Your child will have a "point goal". Each time your child reads a book, he or she will take the AR test on the computer. All students are expected to maintain an 85% or higher percentage correct on the tests that they take. You will receive weekly reports to keep you informed of your child's progress towards his or her AR goals. Please keep in mind that the “point goal” is based on individual reading levels and not all students’ goals will be the same. New point goals will be assigned at the beginning of each nine weeks. You will be able to access AR from home to view the tests your child has taken each day. Through Renaissance Home Connect, you have the option to receive emails each time your child takes a test. This can be very helpful in tracking your child's reading. Please encourage your child to read each day to reach these goals. It is sometimes necessary for parents to help students pace their reading by having them read a certain amount each day. Your child will receive time for individual reading in class as well.
